Saturday

Today was a pretty easy day. It was raining out so I decided not to ride my bike, so instead I decided to clean it. Below you will see my nice shiny bike.

After washing my bike I decided I would give you a tour of my apartment, so below you will see a video I put together of my apartment

And the clouds roll in....

Today was a bit of a let down. I had a experiment all set up at work and it really could not have gone worse. From mixing it together to making the final product it just didn't go well. So as disappointed as I was at the end of the day I am all right now. This is why they call it research, if it went right every time then nothing would need to be developed, and I would be out of a job. So, I just have to learn from what happened and figure out went wrong.

Either way its the weekend so I get some time to relax and get ready for next week. Well its time for some sleep, good night all.

Its a beautiful day

Today was quite the day. Work was really busy and I am a little stressed out about everything, but that is what I live for. I have a lot more responsibility this year, and its really quite fun. Yesterday we traveled down to New Jersery (we were right next to New York City, I could see the skyline) for a meeting with one of our partners. The meeting went well and I gained a lot of insight about my project. On the way back we took the scenic route, and stopped a few times at overlooks of the city, it was pretty awesome.

The roommate arrived on Tuesday and he seems to be a good guy. We are getting along well, and have had a few beers together. We are also carpooling with another Rogers intern so the gas bill is a little lower, which is nice with gas prices (not that I need to really say that.)

Well gotta let you go, got to get ready for a meeting tomorrow.

Aftermath of the 24 race

Well, 24 hours after starting the 24 hours of Boyne race team Sofa King Fast came out on top with the win. Not only did we win, we set a new record for the most laps ever, not bad for a three man team (winning a race is not just about riding, its about being prepared, so here is dad packing the truck, haha)

But we fought hard and earned the top spot with 28 laps, one more than the second place team which was made up of 4 of our good friends. It was a battle that lasted through the night and we finally lapped them around 10:00 AM. I will speak for all of us when I saw that we appreciate everyones support especially our world class pit crew, Caroline for staying up all night (well almost...), Mom for gathering all the supplies to feed an army, Kelly for her excellent pit skills, and Maria. Uncle Jim also stopped by to make sure that we were all still alive, that was awesome.

Last but not least below you can see the world's best 3 man 4 man 24 hour race team. Thanks a bunch to my Dad and Nick for the awesome race. It was the hardest race to date for me, and I was happy to say I was part of such a great team, it was an honor. I will suffer for you guys any day, speaking of 363 days till the next one, whats the plan.......

Number 2

Hey Again. I have been a busy guy over here, with work going at full speed, and after finally getting settled in I have been able to get on the bike.
Work has been lots of fun and very challenging. After only a week on the job I am moving full speed ahead, a lot is expected of me this summer and they want it now. I have been working on some of the initial problems and today it seemed to come together. I really like being at work, I find to hard to get out of there after only 8 hours. On Monday for example I worked for 11 hours because I didn't want to ride, and I only left because I thought I should not work too late. So the work front is going well.
On the bike side of things I did a 75 mile road bike ride up in to MASS., very hilly and very tiring, but at the end of the day it was a great ride. I have also been on the mountain bike, and this is harder than I remember, it seems like there are a few more roots and rocks, as well as a few rivers I don't remember crossing.
The car is running like a champ and last fill up I set a new record for gas mileage, 41 miler per gallon, not bad at all especially when gas is $4.10 out here.
The only complaint I have about the house can be seen in the picture below:

Don't worry this only happened once when I ran only hot water from the tub faucet. Otherwise I removed the flow limitor from the shower head (a tip I picked up from the ol' man) and it works pretty nice and is pretty clear.

Well, I will see some of you soon and I am looking forward to racing the 24 hours of Boyne with my Dad and Nick with weekend, with Steve along side, and best pitcrew in the business: Caroline, Mom, Kelly, and Maria. See ya soon!

Here we are again

Well Folks, last summer was so good, I have decided to do it again. I am back here in Connecticut working at Rogers trying to learn a thing or two.

I got on here on Monday, after pulling the ol' trick Mom I am leaving on Saturday but stay till Sunday for mothers day.
I started work on Tuesday and it looks like it will be a very challenging summer. I am working on a different project from last summer, but I will have to use what I learned last summer on this project. It is very cool, so cool in fact I can't talk about it, but you didn't actually think I could tell you did you?

The place I am staying at is nice, although it was not so clean when I showed up. I had to stay up late cleaning the carpet, the vacuum cleaner was broken so I have to clean the whole thing by hand. Either way I am moved in pretty much now, and settling in pretty nicely. As you can see by the two pics below the room is pretty big, and my stuff fits nicely.

Well I gotta let you go, sleep is needed as I am a little behind. Well keep checking the blog, I plan on updatig it regularly.
